HALIFAX – It’s going to be a party Saturday in Halifax.
The popular Toronto DJ Deadmau5 will be performing in the Halifax Common Saturday at 5:00 p.m., with special performances from a number of other artists, including Dartmouth’s own Matt Mays.
Pier 21 and the Public Gardens will also be hosting free events and concerts, the Emera Oval will have a bouncing castle zone and there will be fireworks to cap things off at 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
Security has been planned out by police for months. Const. Dianne Penfound with HRP says residents can expect to see police around all weekend keeping festivities safe.
Getting around downtown will be a little easier this weekend. HRM will be shutting down Lower Water St. between George and Prince all weekend long from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., turning the road into a walkway.
That’s necessary in part because Waterfront Development’s sea bridge won’t be in place in time for the long weekend, but is expected to open next week.
