Insurance Bureau of Canada releases list of most-stolen cars

By Chris Halef

HALIFAX – If you don’t already lock your car doors, you might want to start, especially if you own any of the cars on the Insurance Bureau of Canada’s list of top ten stolen cars in the province.

It can be easy to forget at times, but one of these days not locking your vehicles doors may cost you.

That’s especially true if you own any of the cars on the IBC’s top ten list.

So you might want to take some extra precautions if you own an ’03 Dodge Ram 2500, which ranked as the fifth most stolen in the province last year.

Beating it out for the remaining four spots included the 2013 Ford Mustang GT, the 2001 Acura 1.7EL, a 2012 Mini Cooper, and taking the top spot for most stolen, the 2004 Cadillac Deville.

According to the IBC’s website, the list is based on actual insurance claims data collected from nearly all automobile insurance companies in Canada.
