Man seriously injured after being stabbed in South End robbery

HALIFAX – A 62-year-old man was seriously injured after being stabbed during a robbery Monday afternoon.

Police said around 3:00 p.m., officers were called out to South Park St. to a robbery. When they arrived, officers found the victim. The suspect, an 18-year-old man, had fled.

Police working the beat on Gottingen St. caught the suspect a short time later. He remained in custody on Tuesday morning, with charges expected to be laid.

The victim and suspect were known to one another, according to police.
