Teen dies in Hammonds Plains crash

HAMMONDS PLAINS – A 17-year-old teenager is dead and another is in police custody after a single-vehicle crash in a Hammonds Plains subdivision Friday morning.

RCMP told NEWS 95.7 officers responded to a crash on Rochester Drive around 9:15 a.m. Friday where a car had lost control and crashed.

The 17-year-old male passenger inside the car died in the crash while the 17-year-old male driver was arrested and remains in police custody as their investigation continues.

Police wouldn’t comment on possible charges against the male in custody.

RCMP remain on the scene Friday afternoon with a section of Rochester Drive blocked off to traffic.
