Rainfall warning issued for Halifax

A rainfall warning is in effect for the Halifax-area, and the Eastern Shore as a low pressure system approaches Nova Scotia.

Up to 55 millimetres is forecast for portions of the eastern mainland by Thursday morning.

Environment Canada warns heavy downpours could cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

There could also be localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Cape Breton is under a wind warning, gusts of up to 90 kilometres an hour are possible.
