Islanders snap Mooseheads’ win streak with 2-0 shutout win

By Chris Halef

HALIFAX – The Charlottetown Islanders ended the Halifax Mooseheads' three-game win streak Thursday night, shutting out the Herd 2-0 at the Scotiabank Centre.

After a scoreless first period, Pascal Aquin ended the scoring drought, finding the back of Blade Mann-Dixon's net at the 16:40 mark of the second period.

Despite outshooting the Islanders 14-6 in the final period, the Mooseheads were unable to get it between the pipes, leaving Aquin to score his second of the evening to seal the deal for Charlottetown.

On Saturday, the Mooseheads get set to host their provincial rivals, the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
