By CityNews Halifax Staff

HALIFAX – The Drummondville Voltigeurs snapped the Halifax Mooseheads win streak Sunday afternoon with a 7-1 win at the Scotiabank Centre.

Yvan Mongo put Drummondville on the board early, with Otto Somppi tying things up late in the first to make it 1-1.

Halifax struggled in the second, with Robert Lynch and Jarrett Baker extending the Voltigeur's lead to 3-1 heading into the final frame.

The third period saw more of the same, as Baker scored his second of the afternoon, with Pavel Koltygin and Connor Bramwell following up to give the visitors a comfortable 6-1 lead.

Nicolas Guay's power play goal was the final nail in the coffin, as the Voltigeurs defeated the Mooseheads 7-1.

On Wednesday, the Mooseheads will welcome the Victoriaville Tigres to the Scotiabank Centre.
