Gasoline prices expected to go down slightly this week

By Dan Ahlstrand

Look for a small drop in the price for gasoline heading into the weekend.

It is expected that when regulated prices are adjusted at midnight they will fall by about two cents per litre.

Dan McTeague of Gasbuddy.com says prices are falling due to the beginning of the spring switchover at refineries from diesel to gasoline.

“This is a time where refineries are shutting down to do spring maintenance, so there's a lots of oil out there. Gasoline not so much, but they're using up the winter inventory.”

Across the border in New Brunswick prices fell by 1.4 cents to a new maximum price of 116.0.
