Screen Nova Scotia implementing standards to combat harassment

Screen Nova Scotia has announced their commitment to prevent harassment on film and TV sets.
The organization will be adopting the Canadian Creative Industries' code of conduct effective immediately.
Karen Wentzell says Screen Nova Scotia is the first provincial film commission across the country to adopt the code, which launched earlier this month.
Wentzell is the vice chair of the organization's board, and explained what the code entails.
“It addresses issues that are timely in our industry,” said Wentzell. “It includes harassment and that includes sexual, discrimination, bullying and violence. So it's not just limited to sexual harassment, it's about sensitivity and having respect for people.”
She says the code also highlights a need for diversity in the industry.
