Fire damage along the Shearwater Flyer Trail (6 photos)
One week after a wildfire in Cole Harbour, cyclists, runners and families out for a Father's Day walk have returned to the Shearwater Flyer Trail.
Aerial photos tweeted by the Department of Natural Resources showed the popular path cutting through a scorched section of forest.
Just over 1.5 kilometres from the Bissett Road entrance to the trail, charred trees and blackened ground easily are visible on both sides.

Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency's deputy chief Roy Hollett said last week flames reached within 300 metres of the homes at the bottom of Astral Drive.
The DNR has not yet determined how the fire started, however Hollett said almost all fires in the province are caused by humans.
Nova Scotians are urged to follow the province's burn restrictions.
