A construction worker in Lunenburg County has discovered a jar that may contain human remains.
RCMP haven't released many details but say the employee was moving dirt with an excavator when they found the glass jar and contacted police.
Cpl. Jennifer Clarke told the Canadian Press the container is about six inches high and three inches in diameter, but she couldn't go into details on what it contained.
Police say the jar “appeared to have been there for a significant period of time.”
The jar and its contents have been sent to the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Service to be analyzed.
Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP 902-679-5561 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
