Lawn tractor operator facing impaired driving charges

By Meghan Groff

RCMP were tipped off by a member of the public to a suspected impaired driver on a lawn tractor.

They found the suspect driving the machinery on the Grimm Rd. in First South near Lunenburg.

Officers arrested the 50-year-old after they say he failed a roadside test.

According to Mounties, breath samples taken later were more than three times the legal limit.

Andrew Melvin George of First South has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle over the legal limit, failing to comply with a probation order and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.
