HRM reopens Dingle Beach

Halifax Regional Municipality says swimmers can now head to Dingle Beach.
Earlier tests at the Fleming Park swimming spot indicated high bacteria levels in the water, but HRM says follow-up tests show the water is safe again.
The water quality at all supervised and four unsupervised beaches in HRM is regularly tested in the summer months.
As of Thursday afternoon, Kinap, Black Rock, Kinsman and Government Wharf beaches also remain closed due to high bacteria levels.
In addition, a risk advisory for Lake Banook, including Birch Cove Beach, and Lake Micmac remains in effect due to the presence of algae blooms.
HRM is asking the public to avoid swimming, wading or allowing pets in the affected areas until they can confirm it's safe.
Residents can check the status of their favourite municipal beach online.
