HALIFAX – The Nova Centre officially opened a new community outdoor space Friday which could host concerts, festivals and sports viewing parties.

Rogers Square is a covered open-air hub space built in the heart of downtown Halifax.

“Rogers Square is a beautiful addition to the Nova Centre, which brings our tenants and the wider Halifax community together in this urban centrepiece,” said Joe Ramia, Rank Realty, Nova Centre.

“Rogers has been a valued technology partner throughout the inception of this complex by providing thousands of kilometres of fibre throughout the building, free Wi-Fi for visitors, a centralized retail store and now Rogers Square.”

To celebrate the grand opening and in time for the Memorial Cup airing on Sportsnet, the public is invited to free hockey-themed activities at Rogers Square on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Rogers is the parent company of NEWS 95.7.
