The Halifax Pride Parade will take to the streets of the downtown core Saturday, July 20.

Starting late Friday night, parking will not be allowed along the parade route. Special event 'no parking' signs will be installed and bags will be placed over parking meters.

As of noon Saturday, the roads being used for the parade route will close to vehicular traffic.

The parade will start at the Halifax Dockyard on Upper Water Street at 1 p.m. It will head down Barrington Street, make a right onto Spring Garden, head up South Park Street to Bell Road where it will end at the Garrison Grounds along Ahern Avenue.

Several Halifax Transit routes will be detoured around the closures during the parade and for the Rainbow Run. Specific information can be found online.

The Alderney ferry will be running every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

All the affected streets are expected to reopen to traffic and parking by 4 p.m. Saturday.
