This weekend, Dartmouth shopping centre Mic Mall Mall has issued a notice to customers about reduced hours of operation.
The reduction in hours will be on a store-by-store basis starting Monday, March 16, according to Mic Mac parent company Ivanhoe Cambridge.
The option for reduced hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Sunday hours will remain the same, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is recommended that customers call stores directly to confirm their hours.
“These proposed reduced hours will remain in place for two weeks, at which point we will re-evaluate the situation,” says the statement on the mall's website.
The statement says the company has also been filling soap and hand sanitizer dispensers more frequently throughout the mall, as well as increased cleaning of common areas.
Anyone who is ill is asked to avoid the mall.
“We are relying on the collective cooperation of people who may be showing symptoms associated with COVID-19 not to frequent public places and, as recommended by governmental authorities, remain at home,” reads the statement.
Other shopping centres, including Halifax Shopping Centre, Scotia Square Mall, and Park Lane Mall, have not announced additional precautionary measures yet.
