Surveying your thoughts on a plastic bag ban

A new survey is looking into the effectiveness of plastic bag bans in the Atlantic provinces.
Researchers are trying to discover the best way to proceed when it comes to banning single use plastics, but they want to get input from people through an online questionnaire.
The study is being run by Shen Molloy, a masters student in the School for Resource and Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University.
It is a pilot project that will take its input from community surveys to understand the public perception of plastic bag bans in Atlantic Canada.
Molloy tells NEWS 95.7's The Sheldon MacLeod Show, COVID-19 has shown how important some plastics are in our lives, so part of the survey will explore what plastics people are comfortable getting rid of.
“Hopefully I can take what I find and use that to drive further action and legislation,” says Molloy.
The results of the survey could guide recommendation and communication materials to get rid of single use plastics in the Atlantic region.
Anyone over 18 can take the survey.
