MILWAUKEE (AP) _ ManpowerGroup Inc. (MAN) on Monday reported a second-quarter loss of $64.4 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Milwaukee-based company said it had a loss of $1.10. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 18 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.
The staffing company posted revenue of $3.74 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.8 billion.
Manpower shares have decreased 25% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 19% in the last 12 months.
