Suspect turns self in after assault in Eastern Passage

By Meghan Groff

A suspect is in custody following an assault last week.

RCMP were called Eastern Passage at around 10:35 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, where they found a victim who appeared to be injured.

That person was taken to hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.

“The suspect, who was known to the victim, had already left the scene,” police said in a news release.

Mounties say 29-year-old Adam Timothy Barkhouse of Eastern Passage turned himself in a few days later. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, unlawfully being in a dwelling house and mischief.

Barkhouse is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on March 3 at 1:30 p.m.
