Power restored following outage on the Halifax peninsula (update)
UPDATE: Power was restored to the affected area at around 10:50 a.m.

Hundreds of people were without power on the Halifax peninsula on Thursday morning.

Nova Scotia Power reported an outage stretching from the north end to downtown Halifax was impacting more than 1,600 customers as of 7:45 a.m.
The utility said a vehicle accident was to blame for the outage.
