Halifax police investigate Mumford Walmart bomb threat

UPDATE: Police reopened the roadways around 10:48 a.m. Walmart has also reopened.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an incident after receiving a bomb threat from an anonymous caller earlier this morning.

Just after 8:45 a.m., police responded to the Walmart at Mumford Road after received the call.

“This building has been evacuated as a precaution and entrances to Walmart via Mumford Road and Chebucto Road are closed for the time being,” a news release says.

“The investigation into this matter is continuing.”

Officers are currently on scene and searching the area.
