A big swing in temperature on the way for Halifax

The weather can be a roller coaster ride in the Maritimes, and that will be the case in HRM over the next day or so.
Thursday morning, temperatures at Halifax Stanfield International Airport bottomed out at -17 C. With the wind factored in, that temperature felt much colder, well in the -20 C range.
95.7 Weather Specialist Allister Aalders says things will warm up quickly around the region on Thursday, with the mercury expected to reach -2 C by the afternoon — and it doesn’t end there.
“Negative two degrees this afternoon but rising to 3 C later tonight, we will have snow developing early this evening, about 5-7 cm before it mixes over to 1 to 5 mm of showers during the overnight hours,” said Aalders
Aalders expects the temperature to hit 4 C on Friday, a 21 C swing from Thursday morning.
