LA JOLLA, Calif. (AP) _ MediciNova Inc. (MNOV) on Thursday reported a loss of $188,000 in its first quarter.

The La Jolla, California-based company said it had a loss of less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $4 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company’s shares hit $4.05. A year ago, they were trading at $5.70.
