Nova Scotian wins big on Jeopardy

By Mark Hodgins

It was quite a night for Mattea Roach.

The 23-year-old Nova Scotian, who now lives in Toronto, was the big winner on the game show Jeopardy on Tuesday night.

Roach took home $32,001 in the win.

Fittingly, one of the questions Roach answered correctly involved the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever.

Roach graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Halifax in 2015. Her family lives in the Halifax area and in Cape Breton.

She'll continue the competition Wednesday night at 8:30 trying to defend her champion title.
