Nova Scotia heating rebate applications open next week

The province says people can start applying for the Heating Assistance Rebate Program next week.
Applications for the $600 rebate will open on Oct. 1.
To be eligible, families can have an income of up to $75,000 and single people up to $55,000.
Renters and home owners can apply for the rebate, and the province suggests you include a copy of a heating bill when applying in order to speed up the process.
Last year nearly 130,000 people got the rebate, at a cost to the province of $77.5 million.
