Temporary service reductions coming to Alderney Ferry

Due to staff unavailability, Halifax Transit will be temporarily reducing service on the Alderney Ferry starting next week.
On weekdays, Haligonians can expect regular 30-minute service from 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., then 15-minute service from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
However, as of Monday, August 29, from 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., the ferry will only run every half hour. It usually runs every 15 minutes until 8 p.m. before switching to 30 minute service for the rest of the night.
It's expected to be this way for at least two weeks.
No change to the Woodside Ferry schedule is expected at this time.
Lack of staffing also continues to impact several bus routes.
“The cancellation of some bus trips, as well as the reduced ferry service is done to provide more certainty to passengers and allow them to plan in light of the current staffing issues,” said Halifax Regional Municipality in a news release.

HRM is still running recruitment campaign to try and hire more bus operators.
