HRM is adding a new location to the list of fire stations handing out emergency water to people whose wells are running dry.

Starting this Tuesday, residents can also head to Station 62 on Old Sambro Road in Williamswood to get a weekly allotment of drinking water.

The full list of locations is below. Unless otherwise indicated, water is available 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. every Tuesday.

  • Station 23 – 5543 Highway #7, Chezzetcook
  • Station 29 – 28975 Highway #7, Moser River
  • Station 38 – 36 Glenmore Road, Middle Musquodoboit (available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Monday to Friday)
  • Station 42 – 4132 #2 Highway, Wellington (exterior tap available 24/7)
  • Station 48 – 1581 Beaver Bank Road
  • Station 56 – 8579 St Margarets Bay Road, Black Point
  • Station 62 – 2417 Old Sambro Road, Williamswood (available beginning on Tuesday, August 30)
  • Station 65 – 17 Scholars Road, Upper Tantallon

Each household can get two litres of water per person per day, along with an additional one litre per day per pet.

Anyone experiencing issues with their water supply is asked to report it by calling 311.

“This will allow the municipality to understand where shortages are occurring and supply drinking water,” HRM said in a news release.
