Power outage in Clayton Park impacts over 8,000 customers

Several people living in the Clayton Park and Fairview area spent most of Friday without power.
According to the Nova Scotia Power outage map, the outage started around 10:36 a.m. It impacted an area stretching from Mt. St. Vincent University to the north to the intersection of Main Avenue and Dunbrack to the south.
As many as 8,939 customers were without electricity during the interruption.
In a tweet from the utility, damage to equipment at a substation was responsible for the outage. They have brought in a mobile transformer to help in the restoration effort.
UPDATE: This outage impacting the Lacewood area, was caused by damaged equipment at one of our substations. A mobile transformer has been brought in so we can reroute power and continue to safely work to restore power to customers.

Friday afternoon, the estimated restoration time was listed as 8 p.m.
