Wildfire in Shelburne County continues to burn

Crews are continuing to fight an out of control wildfire in Shelburne County this morning.

In its latest update from about 6 p.m. Monday on social media, Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources and Renewables says the fire near the community of Little Harbour, is now 56.5 hectares and about 25 per cent contained.

DNRR adding the hotter, drier weather has caused some flare ups with fire.

The department says they have 31 staff members, 23 volunteer firefighters and 2 helicopters now on site working to control the blaze.

There are no reports at this time of structural damage at this time.
