Some operations are being moved around after a power outage at a downtown Halifax hospital on the weekend.
Power went out at the Victoria General (VG) late Friday night, forcing the hospital to move some critical care patients.
Nova Scotia Health says power has been restored, but operating rooms remain closed on Monday, and it is working on plans for those with scheduled surgeries at the VG.
“Clinical leaders have met to add operating room capacity at the Halifax Infirmary site and prioritize and redistribute or reschedule cases booked for the VG, HI and Dartmouth General Monday,” read a statement from the health authority. “Any patient whose care will be rescheduled or provided in a different location will be contacted directly by their care team.”
Most outpatient care and treatments scheduled for Monday at the VG were expected to proceed as planned.
The health authority says it is working to add redundancy to its electrical systems.
