More evacuation orders lifted in Halifax

As firefighters and mother nature bring wildfires in the Halifax area under control, more people have been able to return home.
An emergency alert issued at about 7:30 p.m. Monday said the evacuation order was being lifted for Phase 2 residents in Upper Hammonds Plains, except for those living on Bonsai Dr,, Cyprus Ct. and Yew St.
The alert also said Hammonds Plains Rd. would open to thru traffic as of 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Officials have said residents of areas of the most significant impact from the Tantallon fire may not be able to return to their properties for up to two weeks.
