Five arrested on firearms charges in North Preston

Regional police and the RCMP have announced several charges laid against five people after a firearms investigation.

Police said on Thursday at about 3:40 a.m., officers executed a search warrant on Clarence St. in North Preston.

Five people were taken into custody on charges including careless use of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and laundering proceeds of crime.

Three people appeared in a Dartmouth courtroom later on Thursday and have been remanded into custody. Two others who were arrested were later released and will be in court next month.
