Halifax RCMP have arrested a man involved in a serious collision in Eastern Passage.
Last Friday at roughly 11:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a collision on Main Road where a Toyota Tacoma was driving on the road when it struck a construction worker who was painting yellow traffic lines in a construction zone.
The worker, a 59-year-old Halifax man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.
Mounties said the driver of the Tacoma, a 36-year-old Eastern Passage man, did not suffer injuries but was showing signs of impairment.
He was safely arrested at the scene and transported to the Cole Harbour RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples that registered 170mg% and 180mg%.
He was later released and is scheduled to appear in provincial court next month to face charges of operation of a conveyance 80mg% or over and impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm.
