Thousands remain in the dark after Monday’s storm

Several thousand Nova Scotians are spending a second morning in the dark, and Nova Scotia Power crews work to restore electricity after Monday’s storm.

According to the utilities outage map as of 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, there were still 9,069 customers without power.  NSP says estimated restoration times range from Wednesday afternoon and evening to Thursday evening for some.

On social media, Nova Scotia Power said a significant number of the remaining outages affect individual homes and small groups of customers, which can take more time to restore, adding more than 750 people in the field working to restore power for customers, including power line technicians, damage assessors and forestry workers.
