Man arrested after using torque wrench, bear spray in assault

Lunenburg RCMP has charged a man with an incident involving a torque wrench and bear spray to assault another man.

On Friday at roughly 1:20 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault at a home on Feindel Street in Wileville, where there was an altercation involving two men.

According to Mounties, one of the men was struck with a torque wrench and sprayed with bear spray. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect, who’s known to the victim, was later found at hospital where he was being assessed for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the altercation.

After being cleared by medical personnel, he was arrested without incident.

RCMP said 33-year-old Cody John Daniels, of Pleasantville, has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault causing bodily harm.

He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear back in court next month.
