Man facing drug charges after foot pursuit with Halifax police

A man has been charged in relation to a seizure of drugs in Halifax yesterday.

Halifax Regional Police say officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Ross Road at approximately 11:15 a.m. connected to an investigation.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee in the vehicle, but officers were able to prevent the vehicle from leaving the area.

The driver then fled on foot and was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

In a release, HRP says officers arrested the driver and seized over $5,000 in cash along with quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine.

31-year-old Jeremy William Coleman is set to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face several charges including assault with a weapon, resisting arrest, flight from a peace officer as well as two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
