RCMP investigate fatal collision in Elmsdale

East Hants RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that happened in Elmsdale on Thursday morning.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 214 where a Black Ford F-350 and a semi-tractor and trailer, which were travelling in opposite directions, collided.

Police said the driver and sole occupant of the Ford, a 37-year-old Dutch Settlement man, was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the semi-tractor trailer, a 34-year-old Moncton man, was uninjured.

The collision shut down that part of the highway for several hours as the investigation is ongoing.
