Storm closures and cancellations: Tues. Feb. 13, 2024

A nor’easter is bringing snow and strong winds to the Halifax area on Tuesday night, forcing some closures and cancellations.
SCHOOLS:
NSCC has closed its metro campuses.
NSCAD has closed its campus.
Mount Saint Vincent University shut down operations as of 8:15 p.m. It said a decision on any potential delays the following day would be made early Wednesday morning.
All after school activities & facilities rentals at HRCE schools are cancelled this evening.
TRANSPORTATION:
As of 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Halifax Transit announced it was pulling buses over for a “service pause”. It said buses would resume service once it was safe to do so.
Halifax Stanfield was asking passengers to confirm the status of their flight with their carrier.
SERVICES:
Halifax Public Libraries announced a system-wide shutdown would take effect as of 8 p.m. due to weather.
RECREATION:
Many municipal recreation facilities will delay opening on Wed., Feb. 14 due to weather. A decision will be made by 8 a.m. (with potential re-opening at 10 a.m.) regarding whether rentals/facilities/programming activities will continue as scheduled.
The Canada Games Centre was closing at 8:30 p.m. on account of weather.
