Nelson Beals murder added to unsolved crimes reward program

The murder of a man in Dartmouth in 2022 has been added to the unsolved crimes reward program.

Nova Scotia is now offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of 34-year-old Nelson Tyrelle Beals.

“We need the public’s help for information on the death of Mr. Beals, no matter how small it may seem,” said Brad Johns, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. “The Beals family has suffered a terrible loss, and they deserve closure. Investigators are asking for the public’s help on behalf of the family. I urge anyone with information to contact the rewards program.”

Early in the morning of June 11, 2022, police responded to a report of a shooting on Viscaya Pl. in Dartmouth. Officers found Mr. Beals had been shot and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
