Alberta man brought back to Halifax on historical human trafficking charges

An Alberta man has been arrested and charged in connection to alleged human trafficking offences in the Halifax area dating back more than 15 years.

The RCMP said former Nova Scotia resident Darrell Fisher, 36, was taken into custody in Edmonton on Mar. 7.

He’s facing a long list of charges related to human trafficking, sexual assault and child pornography. The alleged incidents happened between 2007 and 2010, police said.

Fisher has been brought back to Nova Scotia and has been released on conditions after a court appearance last week. He is expected to be back in court Apr. 9.
