Tantallon minor hockey group wins big in national competition

A shot in the arm for the Timberlea Amateur Sports Association (TASA) minor hockey organization.

The association was voted the grand prize winner of the Kruger Big Assist Program.

Many within the hockey association were evacuated during last year’s wildfires, and some lost their homes. The community rallied to cover the registration fees for impacted families and bought new gear for those who lost equipment in the fire.

TASA was originally awarded $25,000 through the program, but after winning a public vote across Canada, it was bumped up to $100,000. This will continue to give more kids access to hockey.
