One person dead after single-vehicle crash on Peggys Cove Road

RCMP in Nova Scotia are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in French Village.

Mounties say the incident stems from Sunday when first responders were called to a crash on Peggys Cove Road around 7:00 a.m.

Officers who attended the scene learned that a GMC Canyon was coming around a curve when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The passenger of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Hacketts Cove woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meantime, the driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Glen Haven man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

Peggys Cove Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened and the investigation continues.
