Third teen charged in murder of Ahmad Maher Al Marrach

Halifax Regional Police has laid another charge of second-degree murder in the death of Ahmad Maher Al Marrach, 16, outside Halifax Shopping Centre last week.

HRP said a 16-year-old who had previously been arrested and released has now been charged. They will be in Halifax Youth Justice Court on Monday afternoon.

Al Marrach was found injured in a parkade around 5 p.m. on April 22 and later died in hospital.

Two 16-year-olds were arrested on a Halifax Transit bus a short time later but both were released without charges.

Monday’s news comes after two 14-year-olds were charged with second-degree murder on Friday.
