Uber and Uber Eats is expanding across Nova Scotia

Uber and Uber Eats is expanding its reach across Halifax Regional Municipal (HRM) by adding more areas to its services.

From Peggy’s Cove to the Eastern Shore, the technology giant and rideshare company will reach residents from across the region starting on May 15.

With “a touch of a button” people in HRM can order a car to drive them within the municipality.

According to the press release, the company is asking people to be patient as waiting time will be “a bit longer” in the core of the city as expansion increases.

“One major obstacle in this area has always been lack of transportation options so we are thrilled to hear that Uber has decided to expand their services to help our patrons get home safely or grab a ride to get items they need to enjoy their time on the bay,” Jill Boutilier, General Manager, Shining Waters Marina, said in a press release.

The company is also expanding its Uber Eats portfolio. People in Sydney, Truro, New Glasgow and Wolfville can order from nearby restaurants.

By the end of May, Uber Eats will include Costco stores in Halifax and Dartmouth, the press release reads.
