Mooseheads’ Mathieu Cataford named QMJHL MVP

Halifax Mooseheads forward Mathieu Cataford has been named the QMJHL’s most valuable player of the regular season.

The 19-year-old centre scored 40 goals and added 50 assists for 90 points in 65 games for Halifax in the 2023/24 season.

“Cataford was able to make up for the long-term absence of Jordan Dumais by helping the Mooseheads finish second in the Eastern Conference,” said a news release from the QMJHL.

Cataford was drafted in the third round by the Vegas Golden Knights at last year’s NHL draft.
