Two people dead following boating accident on Annapolis River

The RCMP is investigating a fatal boating accident that claimed the lives of two people on the Annapolis River on Monday.
Mounties said at roughly 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a 14-foot vessel that had sank with four people aboard.
When officers arrived on scene, they learned a 46-year-old Granville Centre man and a 27-year-old Weymouth man had safely made it ashore.
A short time later, police said a 49-year-old Granville Centre man was found by a search boat and transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Mounties said search efforts continued through the evening with the aid of three fire service boats, as well as a helicopter and an aircraft from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.
At roughly midnight, the remains of a 26-year-old Granville Centre man were found and recovered.
According to RCMP, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
