Police investigating shots fired in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police (HRP) are responding to a report of shots fired in Dartmouth.

According to HRP, officers were called to Colford Avenue where police say a man was shot by an unknown assailant.

The victim has been transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is in the initial stages at this time.

Police are asking people to avoid the area while officers conduct their investigation.
