The Halifax Mooseheads now have a single owner.
The team announced Simon Sports has acquired all minority shares of the Mooseheads and now owns 100 per cent of the club.
Peter and Sam Simon first came into the picture in Feb. 2023 when the father-son duo behind Simon Sports purchased 84.5 per cent from former owner Bobby Smith.
They’ve now bought the remaining 15.5 per cent from minority shareholders.
“This club is and will always be the community’s team and we are both incredibly honoured and blessed to be stewards of such a great franchise. We are all-in to continue building on the rich tradition, achieving greater heights and accomplishing incredible goals,” said Sam Simon, Chairman/Owner and Peter Simon, President of Simon Sports.
In a media release, the team says more than seven million fans have gone to a Mooseheads game since the team launched in 1994, and averaged 8,368 fans per game this past season.
