Police respond to weapons call in Bedford

The search is on for a suspect after a weapon was recovered during a traffic stop in Bedford on Monday morning, police say.

Halifax Regional Police says officers pulled a vehicle over on the Bedford Highway near Meadowbrook at about 9:20 a.m.

According to police, the driver ran away after police found the weapon.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40’s, about 5’3″ with short brown hair. He was wearing a black shirt and shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with police or Crime Stoppers.
