Police in Amherst arrest man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

A Pictou County man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was arrested in Amherst last week.

On June 21st, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Amherst Police say officers were called to a park on Beacon Street after complaints about a belligerent man with open alcohol.

Officers soon learned a Canada-wide warrant was issued for the 48-year-old the day before.

Christopher Wayne Teal was taken into custody and police found methamphetamine and cannabis on his person.

Teal was sent back to a federal institution and will appear court at a later date to face additional trafficking charges.
